“ The Voice Of The Images “ Installation solo exhibition. 2022

This recent work is an amalgamation of different textures, feelings, thoughts, and memories embraced by the idea of the image. In this specific installation the work includes various materials such as fabric, ceramic, wood work, organic materials and painting. My aim is to underline the interconnectivity and relationship between the different materials including the body. To create an ambience where new way of being can be imagined, where the human is not the main protagonist.

I am also reflecting on the image, the history of the image, what do they teach us. Like the immigrant, the immigrant image travel through different time and space in brief appearances and evanescence as suggested by art historian Aby Warburg.

It is all intermingling with personal feelings about friendship, memory of my childhood and impressions of Rome. My longing for the sea and for a different, richer sense of home. I am inspired by the work of Karen Barad. Liminal space inspire me: I think of the crack as a generative space. I am also inspired by mythology, cosmology, herbalism and symbolism.
